I am a multi-media artist, witch & queer. My primary mediums are oil paint & sharpie markers. I’m a full-time, independent artist & I choose media that is affordable & accessible to me. I’m Queer - Queer in gender & queer in my orientation to the world. In my representational works, I center Queer people &/or intimate moments and rituals that have existed in Queer Space. In my drawings, I give form & color to unseen energies, creating images for viewers to read as they might a tarot card. The conversations I have with viewers about their visions in response to the work are a vital part of my creative practice. In palette, subject & life, I consciously celebrate whimsy, femininity & magick. My name, wEEirdEEr ("Weird Deer"), is claimed personally & professionally as a conscious choice to embrace an existence that is anti-colonialist, anti-capitalist, non-patriarchal, non-binary & non-serious.
